That'd depend on the PowerBook model, I'd think. Voice calling on Macs was a thing (introduced with the GeoPort modems for the Quadra 840AV and 660AV), but I don't know if later PPC PowerBook modems have the necessary support for the voice calling software used there, or if Apple or other third parties had newer voice calling software available.
