Bit confused, I guess the second picture is "after", but I thought sunlight would make it go yellow? The ultimate solution is to move to cloudy, rainy country, just like we Brits have... my Mac Plus looks nearly as beige as it ever was (not a platinum Plus I believe) ;-) .

@Snial two different chemical reactions on two different timescales. Bleaching is fast, yellowing is compratively slow.

I have a vague recollection that Dana tried this in Australia some years back, and that the results were similar. I also seem to recall that it did not last. But as the archives are in tatters, I’m not sure we could find the thread.
