theres a chance i'm not understanding something, info seems hard to come by these days on your search engine of choice.
ROM revision: $77D-45F6
Boot ROM Version: $0004.18F5
Mac OS ROM file version: 10.2.1
Looks like my boot rom is already 4.1.8? And OS rom is 10.2.1... Is this even the source...
I may be barking up the wrong tree here with the ROM... Im not sure that's the issue. Boot rom version is 4.1.8 but MAC OS rom version is 10.2.1... I'm not sure either of these things is giving me issue.
I'm so confused as to whats causing this issue.
Thank you, i need to roll back the firmware on my Pismo because the macos9lives 9.2.2 installer put the 10.2.1 firmware on it and now my firewire doesn't work. So I want to roll it back to 4.1.8, the last pismo firmware.
Got a bit of a weird one...
Picked up a firewire enclosure to use with my 3.5" IDE MO drive and it works just fine on my iBook G4. Read/write, mount, copy, eject, whatever.
But when I plug it into the Pismo, It seems to be sending bizarre commands to the drive. It did this with one of my...

So i'm having a blast with this. I figured out why none of my installers were working, the friend i inherited this system from had overclocked it, which changes the gestalt ID, so the installers couldn't figure out which system it was.
So that...
HAH that was the ticket.
I have an IDE MO drive, attached to an IDE->SATA adapter, on a USB SATA adapter, plugged into the usb 2.0 cardbus card on my Pismo G4, and i formatted an MO disk with the proper classic mac drivers on it and it's seen for the installer now. I love figuring this stuff...
i know it wont show up on the desktop unformatted, but it wont even show up in the scsi disk tool and it's not prompting about a disk it can't read. I'll see if i can figure out a way to get one formatted on a classic mac system, but i'm not so concerned about it. just want to see if i can do...
I dont remember, but it wont even see the drive at all, no matter how i mess with my scsi jumpers.
re: extensions, is there a way i can load third party extensions within liveCD install environment? not that it really matters, but i am now curious.
