yes I have checked for bridges and connectivity. the only issue with sound I have is with the audio out jack. I will have to steal a jack from my broken LC550 board (where I got the DFAC2 chip from). But everything on that board is corrosed so the jack is not going to be all that nice to look...
I tried cleaning the jack several times. I know cleaning the headphone jack on my IIgs fixed a low sound output. but Cleaning this one made no change at all. Should I replace it?
So I had to replace a bad Dfac2 chip on my color classic board to get any audio. When I plug a speaker or headphone set into the audio out I am expecting to get stereo audio out and the internal speaker to cut out.. But the internal speaker keeps playing audio and the audio out only plays audio...
So I tried another cap, and replaced a 3300uf cap because it looked a bit cockeyed and the label which shows the negative post location was pretty far from where the pin was and that bothered me (who knows)..

The vias will be trashed. So the connections to the middle layers of the board (its a 4 layer board) will be gone. I have seen machines far less damaged still be toast. Soak in vinegar two hours and thoroughly wash with warm water and a bristle brush or toothbrush to get off the grime...
Well it turned out that the 343S0129-01 DFAC2 chip was in fact bad. I took the one from a bad LC550 board and installed it into the Colormacintosh and I now have sound again. I did check to make sure there were good solder points on the original chip before removing it. It was perfect... It must...
