I have a problem with a Power Macintosh 5500 / 275. Nothing shows on the screen. It does the start-up chime and it might actually be working, but the screen is probably dead. There is no hard drive and no battery.

It was me. I checked again. Most sites cite 4.4A, but mouse.fr cuts after the dot, so it lists RPT-60A as 4A for the 5V.
4.4A is closer to the 4.75 and it should not be a big difference. I will buy one instead of recaping the old one.

What was the specification of the original diode? I have 1n4004 in my possesion.
Do these diodes 1n4000 do a good protection next time someone plugs a bad power supply? I think these diodes have very high voltages in the datasheet or...
