That must have been the one on eBay. It looks like the ROM dump is the same as the one I have (also from Telia), the md5sum is the same.
I have been poking around in the Finder app, which handles the ITV UI. I can't figure out exactly what the app is expecting to receive back from the server...
Some progress... I had to recap my TV box before I could get some life from the serial port.
After entering a PIN, the STB sends a heartbeat of
OAAppl|STB3|1.0t|3333|
^^
Vendor (or OMO card file name ?) | Model | Version | Pin Code |
I am not able to send serial data back to the STB, so it...
Reviving this because I do have a booting unit. It doesn't do much, it asks for a PIN code, and I don't have a remote to proceed.
It has one of the video cards, but it never displays anything. I dumped the EPROM on the video card, which identifies it as a "1616CE by Apple Computer", it also...
Are the caps on the battery charging board ok? I've seen those leak on other powerbooks and cause problems. It does sound like you have some sort of memory or cpu problem. So, short of replacing the SRAM cache chips, you should remove the heatsink and check the CPU die for any damage.
The ROM is indeed different. CRC32 is 3318a935 on this one.
I used speedometer to measure the results. Not sure how good these look since I don't have a retail 33mhz Q800 to compare against
Plug it in and attach a USB cable. One of them should go to the UART chip, and you can use PuTTY or Serial (on mac osx) to query the device. This was probably used for Radio testing judging by the lack of other components on the board.
It does, however I doubt there's any difference. I just checked and there is a 33mhz CPU installed and the oscillator was changed. I have it currently disassembled awaiting a 40mhz CPU. Once I get it I will try to dump the ROM.
One hardware difference I can see is that the djMEMC is a different...
I found one in my EVT Quadra 800. I would guess both are from a Q800, since the date codes on the other ROM look the same. But maybe someone else can chime in if this style of simm was re-used in other macs.
PCB is 80x100mm. There's a technical discussion with a bit more detail here:
Just FYI to those who are building this: The BOM has a discrepancy (at least the CSV BOM on github does) where it calls for an atxmega64, while the firmware is built for atxmega128 in the makefile. I don't know if...
Ok so I just got these PCBs today, I had them done in red and here's what they look like.
Component
Solder
And here's the board post-assembly. This took about 2 hours to complete. Please note the power jack holes are too large for the jack itself, so I wrapped some solder wick around the...
Just wanted to publicly thank PotatoFi for the machine.
I actually tried to save it, and while it cleaned up nicely (I suspect it could be fully cleaned easily in an ultrasonic), the CPU had suffered some physical damage that would make repair too time consuming. I needed the whole top case, so...
I want to get this done before I lose interest, so I'm having 10x PCBs manufactured and ordered 1 set of parts from DigiKey. I didn't realize there was a box and power adapter included in the CSV BOM, so that added ~$30 to the cost. If you buy in 1x quantity, the total cost (without case or 5v...
At work we use 3M 8810 for chips with bare dies like that. It will probably hold, but won't be great, even if you use strong thermal adhesive. Those screw type heatsinks aren't very common nowadays so you might be out of luck re-using the original parts.
In combination with the thermal tape...
