PowerBook 160 help (broken hinge mount)

One of my hinges were off and i looked at it. One tip for anyone trying it, GET THE SCREEN AT A GOOD ANGLE TO GET TO THE SCREWS!!! After you expose the hinge screws, when i tried to move the back to make it easier, another one snapped. Now i have to rebuild another one. Quick question, are all 4...

    Powerbook 180c issues

Thats the plan once i get some, use 1.4's. Anyways got Ramdoubler, bomb shelter and MS Word 5.1a on it for now, it should make a nice little note taking machine. Thats it's official use so that it is not useless, therefore not subject to disposal by people in the family who tend to think these...

    Powerbook 180c issues

It probably takes a bit of getting used to, this is the first time i've ever played around with any pre os 7.5 system so it should be fun. On another happy note, the PRAM battery seems to be working again :) , must have been cause it was plugged in for a while now. Will confirm tommorow if it...

    Powerbook 180c issues

I got 7.1 pro installed. Should i get the update from apple or is it pointless? Its gonna have to wait till i get some floppy disks... My hard drive icon changed from the little laptop to Pink Floyd hammers (best way to describe it), i like it! I forgot how basic system 7.1 is tho :( . More as...

    Powerbook 180c issues

So heres the update, i can't initialise the drive using Apples hd sc program. It says the device is still mounted or that i file is in use, even after i drag the hard drive to trash and all the stuff to do with it disapears. I even tried booting with disabled extentions no luck. Could it be due...

    Powerbook 180c issues

As assumed earlier up, it has Ramdoubler. Is it any good, should i hold onto it when i reinstall? Its running 7.6 now and feels pretty good, but i might try 7.1 first, because i found a link for it online and i have enough floppies for it (although i'm going to borrow my dads box of floppies...

    New Mac Plus

I finally got around to opening this thing 'cause i heard something rattleing around inside. I had to take a t-15 screwdriver and cut off the metal part, then cut a slot into it so i could turn it with a flathead screwdriver. Didn't have any problem after that, must have been opened before...

    My new macs

***Correction*** The PPC is a 7300/180, not a 7200. Its running a version of system 8. ***Update*** The LC 575 also is running system 8, but a bit less hapily than the 7300, wonder why ::) . It was previously owned by a smoker and the case is pretty dingy, but i think its in the best shape...

    Powerbook 180c issues

You mean "à propos de cet ordinateur", missed it on my way to control pannel like 5 times... there is 2 lines for memory, integrated memory is 8192kb, total is 16384kb. Is that including virtual? Seems high to me, or maybe i should just be happy :) . ***Edit*** Virtual seems to be turned...

    Powerbook 180c issues

I would check the specs, but i forgot how to do so, especially in french :p , can you remind me how to do so? It has 4megs of ram i beleive. The sticking drive is not too bad, on bootup i just got to "knock" on it and it seems to work. I'd really appreciate the link for the clock battery...
