Macintosh 128 400k disk drive issue
Did you replace the eject mechanism gear? That could cause the constant running sound.

RIFA question
I ordered replacements for the RIFAs in a Mac plus. I just noticed that the replacements are 4700pf vs the 2200pf originals. Are these caps fine to install? Pictured below is a original.

Here is a page from the dead Mac scrolls, does this match the issue?

Old screen's worn out ?
It wasn’t a pot, it was a normal resistor.

I combined a bunch of resistors, because I didn’t have one with the right value and I got it to work. Now I have to order a new resistor.

I had this issue on a plus, and it was caused by a bad resistor. I don’t know what is is on the SE, but I saw the fix in the dead Mac scrolls.

That is cut -off and it didn’t do anything when I tried.

For me that resistor doesn’t have a reading. The legs are also corroded.

I only saw cut-off and voltage on that side, and neither would go low enough to fix it.

I went and disconnected the LB and plugged it back in and now it is back to what was happening in the above pictures.

I powered it on today, and now it won’t even make the bong, the screen is just garbled. Could this be caused by bad caps on the analog board?
