Thanks all for your tips. grudolf94 I looked up a component reference and it seems likely this is a TI variant of the gate you mentioned. Sot23 or sc70?
I am working through issues on one of these ti4600 mac cards. It boots, but rarely gets to a mac desktop. The one time it was stable enough, I switched to 256 colors and had a lot of randomized noise on the screen. Only the dvi port works, nothing out adc.
There are a few missing caps as well...
I’m using this configuration through a kvm successfully as well. I’d be interested in a usb-c version, but even more interested if support for usb joysticks (mapping to keyboard) was added 😀
Resolved- It’s got to be a problem with the newer serial port on the quadras. I got an original LC running recently and the capture system came up working right away, no issues.
Saw your post on IIfx ram. I have no need for this machine but need something for powerbook duo (280c/2300c). The larger capacity ram modules for some powerbooks like duo seem incredibly rare and ridiculously expensive when you find one- I see a wishful thinking listing for $4,500 on ebay for...
I’ve found the PCI cards were the culprit- adaptec usb card and keyspan serial card. I found a note in the adaptec doc mentioning this.
Now the system is sleeping, but fan is still running- is there a cooldown cycle expected until everything is silent?
@kdrone if you have the MDD there is a single screw securing the left tab of the modem connector case. Remove that and pivot it clockwise 30 degrees and pull it away from the case wall. Dealing with the existing wire is another issue, I ended up cutting it. Removal of the processor heatsink is...
Did the install last night on an MDD with the horizontal copper heatsink. Very easy to plug in the main PCB, modem port install is a bit tricky. I recommend removing the processor heatsink to do this to make this part much easier. I notched the modem port bracket as shown, and twisted the...
Thanks for the ideas! It is passing in serial data, and I used it long ago with a Mac LC, so I know it can be used with a slightly newer gen equipment, but a quadra may be too much.
Surprised I wasn’t able to find anything on this- I am trying to run a serial video capture peripheral that is verified on an SE, but captures digital noise on a quadra. It was suggested it is out of sync due to software that might be tied to clock speed like some old games that run too fast...
