I agree the enclosure is a strange one, I'm getting a DSLR from college tomorrow so expect some much better pics of the case/inside. Stranger thing is the CRAZY amount of rfi it emits 8-o
Thanks for the info gents ^
I got impatient and dried the inside with a hairdryer set on cold }:)
It powers up, pushing the buttons makes the lights do stuff. I'll plug it into my SE as soon as I find an appropriate cable (I'm POSITIVE I have one somewhere). Anyone know where I might find a...
It was just sitting with some old boxes, literally in the street. IDK how long its been out there but its soaked so I'm gonna let it dry a little before powering it up.
Weird thing is I can't find any info or drivers about it on the net. I'll post back here when the drying is complete :-x
I've just been given an iMac G3 with what appears to be a power issue. It powers on for a second or two, then shuts off, the power light never going green, and it doesn't do the startup chime. I've tested the CRT with a powermac, and it is good. Not sure where to go from here, suggestions, as...
Took me a while to find an ethernet card for my SE, I used to use Localtalk bridge for networking. You can download it from

It's not a very elegant solution though. You could put this in the Trading Post forum, someone here might have one...

I dont think those existing holes in the floppy cage are safe for this purpose as it developed a very faint rattle a few hours in. With that in mind I've drilled myself some new holes...
So this is what I've done. The original floppy drive is back in its cage, and the hard disk has a low enough profile for me to screw it to the upper floppy cage. I only managed to get two scews to fit, and the back half of the drive is jutting out quite a way in to the open space under the back...
The nic is an Asante PDS card. It doesn't take up a lot of space inside. It does mean though, using an accelerator is out of the question.
I still have the original floppy drive I took out, I was looking for confirmation that the SE would be able to power the hard disk and two floppies. I...
Good Afternoon fellow macheads,
*rant warning. skip to 2nd paragraph for actual problems*
Heh, I would've joined this forum years ago had I known about it. About me & my SE; I'm not much of a collector per se, currently I own a Powermac G4, a Mac Mini G4, a rev1 iMac G3, and an SE/FDHD. I...
