Hi @macuserman I'm currently about to embark on a journey of repairing a defective 950 PSU. In case I don't get very far, do you know how much it would be to ship to the UK...?
Mine is doing exactly the same after I fumbled to push in a power cord which was connected to a socket already switched on. It looks like it might be the transformer labelled 'T1' inside. I am going to start replacing caps...
Hi @joshc - I would attest to this - mine is doing the same as in https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/quadra-950-power-on-and-off-after-a-few-seconds.37717/ - switching on for a second whilst hissing then going off again. This started happening after I fumbled to put the power cable in which...

Thanks all for your kind help and pointers - it is very much appreciated and it is nice to find such a friendly forum!
To update, this evening I took the IIci apart, laid it all out on the table and used some cat-5 cabling (!) to connect up the PSU output pins to the corresponding inputs on the...
One question I do have - the 7100 power supply appears a perfect fit (to test with) but has different current ratings on each of the lines - I have heard they are interchangeable but the differing outputs makes me wary...!
Brilliant thank you - I've got some isopropyl alcohol on the way (as well as two new 3.6V batteries - one for this, one for the 7100) so will get to work with that and cotton buds around the power area to start with.
Many thanks - I'll keep the thread updated with progress
Good evening,
Apologies if this specific problem has been handled elsewhere. I could not find this exact issue through searching.
On Monday, I took possession of an absolutely mint condition IIci (including boxes, accessory pack, original install floppies etc) with the 13" trinitron monitor...
