    Store-Room Raid!

2 Classic II's? Very nice! I'm extremely jealous.

    Ditto!

And just as well too! Those ditto machines ended up being banned in schools when it was found out that the chemicals used were carcinogenic. A higher than statistically normal number of teachers who used those on a daily basis ended up with cancer. The copies did smell good though :beige:

    Flashback Ad!

Cool! $4495. Yep, that's why I never had a Mac back then. Anytime I think picking up a used classic Mac today is too much money, I'll just look at that ad!

    Downloaded Cubase

Thanks to the nice folks that posted all the good info in this thread, I was able to get Cubase running on an SE FDHD, 4MB, with a minimal System 7.5. I haven't had time yet to actually try it out, so I have no idea how well it runs yet. Amongst my gear is a Kawaii K11 that has a Mac serial...

    Alice/Through the Looking Glass...where?!

MrMacPlus: I did not know that you could run system 1 and 2 on a mac plus. Interesting! well whaddayaknow! Alice does work on mini vMac with system 3.2. Exactly how to play the game is another matter though! (I think Andy Hertzfeld explains it in his book and on folklore.org) Next up, trying...

    Alice/Through the Looking Glass...where?!

I finally found time to get the file over onto some real macs (it's a bit of a pain for me right now as the only floppy drive I have is on a PC). I tried it on a Mac Plus (with System 6.0.8 ) and it loaded, but when you move a piece, the game bombs out. Same thing on an SE FDHD with system...

    I paint my mac

looks cool in white! Kinda star trek-ish (not in a bad way) with the font. Too bad apple hadn't discovered "snow" back then. Snow compact macs would look cool.

    De-yellowing Compact Mac Plastics

I've been following your progress here and also the thread(s) on VC. Very Impressive! I'm going to do that same thing with a bunch of Mac stuff too. I'm just waiting for some consistent sunlight and reasonable outside temps. I'm going to try using the cornstarch as has been suggested on VC...

    NextStep

Indeed. There's of Steve Jobs demoing the development tools for NS (about 23 minutes in). The development tools for NS are very similar to the development tools for OS X, especially Interface builder. The cocoa frameworks for OS X (aka. "programming libraries" for OS X) are all prefixed...

    Alice/Through the Looking Glass...where?!

It runs, but it bombed out for me in mini vmac 3.0.4 as soon as I tried moving a piece. I'm going to try it on a real machine today and see what happens.

    Alice/Through the Looking Glass...where?!

Thanks! Sure enough, that's one site I didn't check...I thought I had read that it was offline. Much appreciated!

    Alice/Through the Looking Glass...where?!

Does anyone know where this software can be found by any chance? I read about it on Folklore and got intrigued. I looked through almost all of the links on the wiki software page, searched here, googled, etc. It all turns up old dead links, or dead sites. The sites that worked didn't seem to...

    Boatload of Stuff

That's my experience too; only a very thorough cleaning of all the parts will get rid of that smell, otherwise it'll linger for years. At least you didn't inherit a smelly CRT. I can't image an easy way to get the smell out of one of those.

I was just wondering how well those 900mhz G3 ibooks run

I run 10.4 on a 800Mhz G3 iBook and it runs fine. No more sluggish than Jaguar and Panther were.
