For my Apple Network Server 500/132:
1. The 150 MHz CPU card
2. The 1 MB Level 2 Cache module
3. The Apple Network Server 700 ROM Module
4. One 68 Pin SCSI Interconnection Board (now ALL 5 HD trays will be fed with 72 GB drives!)
5. Two 50 Pin SCSI Interconnection Boards (just for backup...
Hello.
As I was able to upgrade my Apple Network Server 500/132 a bit I would like to use it again as... well, server! For this project I am looking for helpful hints where to find pre-compiled binaries or the compilable source code for the following parts:
PHP, Perl and MySQL.
The special...
Long time ago since I´ve been here...
Anyway, I would like to ask if someone around here has at least some experience with a Kinetics (later "Shiva") FastPath 4 LocalTalk / Ethernet Bridge. Although mine seems to work none of my Macs "finds" it with the Shiva NetManager...
Thank You for any...
I have tested my 6100 several times with a G3 upgrade, an older Radius graphics card and the 486 Intel CPU card and I also noticed these differences about the temperature inside the housing - but to me it wasn't the reason for a locking up Mac.
In the beginning I've been using the original...
A single beep -> could <- mean a wrong or not well seated RAM module. Regarding the screen flashing: try to connect an external display and see what happens.

Maybe because it looks like a "new" old school cell phone or some sort of new designed iPhone [:D] ]'>
Although I have 5 ROM packs no woman ever asked me about that [}:)] ]'>

Congratulations! The more I´m dealing with that box the more I like it - although it´s the far most complicated machine I ever had to deal with. In the meantime I managed to get nearly all software for it, just the Apple distribution fixes and the RAID card software are still missing.
While the...
Very nice!
I´m still using my first edition printed version (!) from time to time, but it´s always very comfortable to have it the digital mobile way.

I surely am a user (not only) of old Macs and if possible I repaired nearly every machine I own by myself (besides my G5 that leaked its cooling liquid for killing both CPUs).
Again: I never dealt with CRTs before, nor with analogue boards of old Macs and before I´m searching for any good...
I will ake some photos as soon as possible!
Well, some obscure online auction sellers are sometimes manipulating old stuff in order to achieve higher rates. Although not very "popular" it might have been possible that this Mac is a physically downgraded Plus with the faceplate from an "out of...
Now after opening both machines it seems pretty clear that my 512k is an upgraded one. The tube and the board beside the tube are definetly from the 512k and so is the front housing; mainboard and backside housing is from that Plus upgrade which also contains the 800k floppy drive but not the...
Today I' facing a rather unusual Mac which I won within a non-eBay auction. The front housing of that Mac clearly identifies it as the 700th 512k Mac manufactured within the 34th week of 1984 (regarding the aerial number decoder online) - the sticker and the front housing are definetly original...
Hello. I'm looking for some info regarding my Plus. Seems to me that mine is facing that video dropout problem: after running for 10 minutes (sometimes less) there is some silent chirping sound and the display loses it's output (while the Plus seems to work).
I know that there is some solution...
