I'm sure it's possible. People have managed to cram two floppy drives and a hard drive into those cases (with a custom mounting bracket, of coarse). It all depends on the size of the hard drive and if your SE/30 can handle the extra power load.
I completely agree. My first compact mac was originally my parent's first machine, a Mac SE. My second was a Plus I picked up at the local Goodwill. My third was an SE/30, frankensteined together with parts from eBay and craigslist.
Part of collecting and preserving these machines is to also...
Darn, I was just getting ready to set up a network with my SE/30, Orange iMac, and Macbook...
Guess I'll have to stick to the old floppies and zip disks then. :(
My old Mac SE, which I just finished de-yellowing, has a sticker stain. The sticker itself was from an aftermarket computer upgrades store, and the majority of it was transparent. But the text and everything opaque on it has literally been imprinted onto the surface of the case. I initially...
Huh, I should try that. I just assumed it was something I had done wrong when upgrading to VGA.
On another note, does anybody know of a mod that can create a new motherboard cover for a mystic CC? I think cutting up the cover for the LC575 to fit the CC would yield good results. Has anyone...
Is it mine? I wish it were :)
I don't know why the seller never upgraded the resolution. He may have wanted to keep it stock, or never wanted to risk a soldering mishap.
I do own a CC, but it's currently in shambles; everything it displays lacks the color red...
I hope this gets a good home:

Most notably, it has the elusive Daystar PPC card for the LC 575. Pop one of those babies in a Mystic Color Classic and you get both 33mhz 040 and 66mhz...
Yes, swapping out one of the floppy drives is really simple. Every Mac SE has an internal SCSI port on the motherboard for an internal HD, you just need a mounting bracket (heck, you could even make one yourself) and a ribbon cable. I suggest testing both of the floppy drives before you make the...
neato :)
I like how this ad displayed some of the prices of other products as well.
But $70 dollars (canadian that is) for a pack of 10 floppies???
That around $50 here in the US, and when inflation is calculated as well...
Ehh... That's a tough one. A few weeks ago I saw a sealed Mac SE (opened the box, but did not rip shrinkwrap from computer) on ebay that had been sitting in some guy's closet all these years. The case was virtually flawless and it still had the yellow disk guard in the drive. In that case, I...
I can wash it more thoroughly and see what happens. I will eventually need to replace the caps on it to fix this problem. Is there anything I should be aware of before I attempt to recap it?
