Strangely, this doesn't show up when you search for sold/completed auctions. Pretty sure eBay goes back at least 90 days... I searched for it today ...May 13, yours ended April 3. I've always wondered if eBay edits out auctions that don't go for big $$$ in sold/completed search results...
So I got another 128mb SIMM off eBay...
Thought maybe Sonnet would've enabled usage of a large capacity SIMM on the Presto '040 PDS accelerator card....
Mac OS crashed while loading and I got this message on the screen, redrawing itself over and over:
Bluets and Granola Bars ?!?!
If I put...
Finally noticed 128mb SIMMs being sold (at a reasonable price) on eBay...
The first one I bought worked in my LC475 and Quadra 630.
Strangely enough, the SIMM doesn't work on the DOS PDS card for the LC 640 I have (it works on the Mac motherboard OK). The PC card has a black screen on...
I finally got around to booting up version 3.1 of the Apple IIgs Diagnostic disk and an image appeared on the screen:
I guess the clock battery still works!
Both my Amiga 3000's boot to the internal hard disk, and neither have a battery in them.
However, I always have to put an external terminator on the 3000's SCSI port in order to get them to boot.
This is what I was thinking too. And the CPU card sets the speed of the bus.
Looking at the pictures in the service manual, the CPU cards seem permanently attached to the heatsinks.
The heatsink/CPU assembly pulls straight out once you loosen the screws.
I was going to try swapping CPUs, but...
Looking at the service manual in the "Exploded View" section there are only two logic board part numbers: one labeled as dual logic board, and one as quad logic board.
Also, there are only two different power supplies, one is a 710 watt the other is a kilowatt (!)
If the CPU wasn't what...
I have two PCI-Express-based "Late 2005" PowerMac G5's
One has a 2.0ghz dual core CPU, and is a perfect-looking (new, mint) case.
The other has a 2.3ghz dual core CPU, but it's a scratched up case.
I want to put the 2.3 in the 2.0's case. But I am wondering...
Is the motherboard in these...
I think just got one of these... firmware is 4.5.0f4
I tried booting a custom Mac Utilities CD with Mac OS ROM 10.2.1 on it. It loads the file but won't start the system.
Nor will it recognize any Mac OS 9 system folder as bootable in the Mac OS X startup disk control panel.
Is ROM version...
If you have the resources and the ambition you can put two PDS cards into the IIsi at once.
All this and a 25mhz modified board too (not my mod, just got lucky to find one).
I have a PDS-based SuperMac 8-24 PDQ card (which I think is just a Nubus card hack) with it's PDS riser, a 68882 FPU...
I ended up cleaning the IIci boards. With a toothbrush, cold water and a pinch of baking soda in each area where the leaks were.
One board actually started to output sound again, although not very loud. The rest all output video thru the motherboard video connector.
All powered off without...
