Put it back together and still doing the same thing. Unfortunately the disassembly process caused a lot of the inner support plastics to break and I no longer believe it will fit together again.
One more note - I've disconnected the speakers to see if I hear anything else and there seems to be...
That was what I was afraid of. I doubt it has been. I took it apart and there is quite a lot of caps on this thing. Anyone have a list? if not I will try making my own.
Recently inherited a 600MHz Snow iMac G3. Copyright date of 2002 on the bottom. When I got it home, I powered it up just fine. Took out the HDD to image it and wipe it and put it back in and now it no longer powers on. When I plug it in cold and press power I hear a pop from the speakers and...
Hi All,
Thanks for all of your help and insight. Apologies for the radio silence, but the holiday season kept me away from this thing for a while. I finally had a chance to play around with it again and it seems to be working! My original cable (the one with the arrows) does indeed work. For...
I would certainly give it a shot. Best way to test is to take it apart and remove the frame too which holds the daughtercard and power board, then snap everything in really secure and plug in power (make sure the speaker is attached). With no batteries once power is connected I heard the chime...
Some good news! Turns out the PRAM battery had nothing to do with my GLoD booting issue. It took hours of assembly/disassembly but I got the thing to work again. I think the issue with the GLoD is the processor daughtercard not seated all the way.
When inserting the motherboard back in, both...
That's what I am wondering too. The problem is I can't seem to find any information about what the pinouts should be. The cable I have isn't branded anything and shows two opposing arrows on the DIN-8 side connector. I swear this thing used to work...
Hi Everyone, this is happening to me now too, exact same symptoms. I recently went in to replace the HDD with a CF card and removed the CMOS battery after seeing just the slightest bit of corrosion on the frame (nothing on the logic board). I'll try putting the CMOS back in to see if that solves...
Hello,
I have an original ImageWriter I that I am trying to get to work with my PowerBook 2400. The printer works and I was able to do a self-test print without issues. However I cannot get the Mac to see the printer. I have it connected with a cable to the serial and selected. When I print it...
