Fixing speaker on Mac Classic

I have a Mac Classic that (after recapping everything) basically works perfectly, but i'm not getting any sound from the on-board speaker. The sound does work if i plug something into the headphone jack.

Is there an easy way to repair this speaker? I haven't had a chance to check its impedance yet, but it's possible the speaker is blown. If it is, what's the best route to repair it?

I remember that classics (or was it classic IIs?) have the bad cap problem of course that if left long enough can cause low or no volume. Chances are, though, if external sound works, then it's something with the speaker.

First, as you know, check the speaker. It's also possible the jack has a stuck internal switch thinking something is plugged in at all times.

I think most people typically replace, not repair a speaker?

What sort of speaker should I be getting, if I aim to replace it? I know next to nothing about speakers.

Definitely check the jack, and the impedance on the speaker itself as well.

You'd probably want to just look for an exact replacement from another Mac Classic. I'm not sure if the same speaker is used in any other models. I know that MacEffects sells a new speaker for the SE & SE/30. (https://maceffects.com/products/transparent-nickel-plated-speaker-for-macintosh-se-se-30) Someone else would have to verify whether the speaker changed for the Classic.

Apple changed the speaker spec between models, so most of them are not swappable. The original speaker for the Classic was 63ohm 0.25W.

I don't know how to measure impedance properly, but my meter gives the resistance over the speaker at around 20ohm. How do I check the jack? It looks clean but I don't know which pins are associated with the switch so I don't know how to check it.
