MICRON Xceed Grey Scale video card with the works for sale on Buyee! I wonder how much this one will go for?

I've got an Interware Grand Vimage 24-16s. It doesn't do internal greys, but it does do millions of colors on an external monitor. Plus, it's accelerated! And I got it for a fraction of what this is going to go for.

The Micron with greyscale kit is not 'good value' (what retro gear is?) but it is cool... greyscale on the internal CRT does give a very different feel to B&W and even using an external monitor. With the addition of an accelerator it makes an SE/30 feel like a much more modern machine than it is. All that said, I would still wait for the Bolle version rather than buying an original.

@joshc -If I could get one for a reasonable price, I would love to own one! I actually almost had one a few years ago. It was in an SE/30 that was up for sale on Buyee if I remember correctly; the final bid was about $355!

Probably won't see a deal like that ever again......

Exactly, after all, we are gluing the monitor on aren't we? Doesn't that make it a prototype? ;)
If I get my name legally changed to "Apple", it will be produced by Apple too.

Perhaps I should sign it... Does anyone know someone called Steve?

More seriously- at these prices there is a limited market, has anyone seen ome of these cards rear their head after sale lately? Is it private collectors? Or Museum? Or computer clubs? Is it us, I.e. people on 68kmla?

Or Apple? 😆

I suspect it's more wealthy collectors then us folks here on the forum. Some people like the guy behind "The AAPL Collection" in Dubai have a lot off spare cash to burn on this sort of stuff. I can't fault them, that guy's setup looks sweet. It is a shame that it can drag up prices for us less well off collectors though.

This should make it obvious what’s going on.
Breakout board with RJ45 (and Db15 and VGA video connector in case of phiplis photo) connected to one of my adapter/ethernet combo cards.
Does this card support dual PDS or just PDS and Cache? Just curious really. On the off chance one is available - I'd take one immediately.

You can change your name to Apple P. Macintosh, so then you could call yourself Mr. Macintosh! (middle initial P. is for Power, so you can get your PowerMac bases covered, too).

'Steve' is such a common name, perhaps that should've said "Does anyone not know someone called Steve?"

That said, I've known at least six Steves in my life. I'm no longer in touch with any of them, though, so I'm not of much help I'm afraid.... 🤪

On a more serious note:

It is a shame. There are many things (Micron Xceed grayscale setup, any Lisa) that I'm quite certain I'll never be able to afford because of a combination of this and eBay price fixing shenanigans.
