Rodus
Finally got my MP 2000 online using a Lucent WaveLAN silver card. 3 hours it took me to work out the settings! Kudos to the Japanese guy for writing the drivers.
Byrd
I've a Lucent Wavelan Gold but the driver installed doesn't work. I assume I need to find the Newton Internet kit, but am having difficulty working out where it can be found? Thanks JB

equant
Finally got my MP 2000 online using a Lucent WaveLAN silver card. 3 hours it took me to work out the settings! Kudos to the Japanese guy for writing the drivers. Congrats. I've got wifi on my eMate. I agree that the drivers are a major accomplishment. I just wish NIE was a bit better. I've never liked it much.
iamdigitalman
I wish that the driver was totally free and WEP worked no matter. Also, that little slip that comes up every time I soft reset telling me to register gets annoying. WPA would be nice, but I don't see it happening. They got it on the airport card, which is a special lucent wavelan. -digital
Rodus
I've just installed it. No registering reminder and no WEP problems. Maybe it's been opened up with the latest download? My 20 meg storage card turned up today, works like a charm. Now I'm just waiting for the bluetooth card ]'>
gobabushka
i'm having troubles getting it to work on my emate. how do i configure the driver? what files do I need to install from the NIE? and why dont the lights come on on my wavelan.
Rodus
IIRC I installed all the .pkg files from here: http://www.unna.org/unnasearch/entry.php?pkey=157 downloaded and installed the wavelan drivers and it eventually worked with a lot of playing around. It's dammed temperamental and a pain in the arse to set up but it does work.
thinkdifferent
I am considering buying a MP 2000 off eBay. Would you guys recommend it?
Rodus
Depends on the price really, I love mine and I've managed to pimp it hugely so I'd say yes.
ashtondance
I just bought a Newton 2100, wifi card bronze, etc. I cannot get on my network. Please help.
Rodus
OK, make sure you've downloaded the relevant drivers: http://www.ff.iij4u.or.jp/~ngc/eng/newtwave.htm Set your base station to WEP or unencrypted. go into Owner info and set up a new worksite and add all your details, wifi setup etc in there. Then when you use Newtscape (or whatever) to surf, connect using that worksites info. It can take a while to fine tune so be patient.
adambravo
Not sure if anyone is still monitoring this thread, but wondering if anyone can explain the -60088 error I'm getting with a Lucent Wavelan IEEE Silver and both my MP2100 and eMate. I have Eero mesh wifi at home and have also tried the hotspot on my iPhone. It seems to hang on 'getting DHCP configuration' before the error message pops up.
