MacSE
I recently picked up a Macintosh SE/30 at a local estate sale for free. (It was the last day of the sale and nobody wanted it.) I have a SCSI2SD ready to install in the computer, but I want to know if I can just copy the files off my System 6.0.8 boot disk onto the SD card, or do I have to buy an installation disk? Thanks in advance.
Johnnya101
You can copy the boot disk. Make sure the thing is set up properly first.
techknight
First you need to clean and recap the machine. Its like changing batteries these days. gotta be done.
Themk
+1 for cleaning and recapping the logic board. Do it now before you get broken traces and other fun surprises like that. Sometimes there are problems with these machines that do get fixed by a simple recap, other times patch wires are necessary.

Here is a link to down load the install package for 6.0.8: https://winworldpc.com/download/3E42DDE6-18DA-11E4-99E5-7054D21A8599 Here is a link to system 6 Link Heaven: https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20160828192721/http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/system_6_heaven.html The nuts and bolts on how to down load and how to make boot floppies are here at the Low End mac page.
