galgot
Long time I didn’t add a « new » machine in this thread. So here a nice Duo 230 I just got from BadGoldEagle (Good actually), thank you Sir, run beautifully thanks also to our distinguished Bibilit who repaired the HD. Will change the broken lid lock with one from a 210 wreck . Not new in the collection, but now I have it working finally cause I’ve changed the main board , is my Clamshell key Lime. So I now have four colors running : Edited March 9, 2017 by galgot
MJ313
Those iBooks are in really good shape. You must've spent a good deal of time cleaning them up? They look practically new!
joethezombie
I agree! That's a fantastic collection right there.
galgot
Thanks. Some soapy water, a tooth brush, then shine the case with a soft cloth with a bit of WD-40, and it makes the plastic looks new Also the picts show it to their advantage.

galgot
Have a soft spot for Wallstreet/PDQs. that one was missing in my collection. It’s a PowerBook G3 « Mainstreet », The cacheless 233Mhz model, with a 12.1 passive display, no S-Video out, no modem… A dog. Listed as one of 10 worst Macs ever build Not so easy to find here (France), most of the Wally/PDQs I see for sale are latter or upper-level 233 w.512cache, 250, 266, 292, 300 models with active screens. Happy to have that one. True , the case is not in the best shape, and I got it with the two hinges broken. Replaced left one with a good one, and the right one with my experimental carbon loaded 3d printed hinge piece. So far it stays in place.

galgot
Thanks Sirs . It compared bad with the mighty Kanga It scored 445 with MacBench , when the Kanga scored 747. The second serie 233 Mhz Wally with cache did 764. Interesting read on LEM : http://lowendmac.com/2014/low-end-macs-compleat-guide-to-wallstreet-powerbooks/ http://lowendmac.com/1999/cacheless-mainstreet-powerbook-g3-233-road-apple/ And it's strange to see a Wally with that small passive screen. Same res as a Kanga at 800x600, but with a ugly passive screen, and inside a screen case much larger ... looks stupid, but worth having for a Powerbook nut like me. Found that list on LEM too : http://lowendmac.com/2007/the-10-worst-macs-ever/ But there are other : http://www.floodgap.com/mirrors/worstmacs.html

Make sure you have the floppy drive installed instead of the more useful CDROM to complete the look.
EvieSigma
I'm still trying to find a floppy module for my PDQ so I have a portable floppy maker.
