  1. After many years of delays on my part, I finally managed to get this specific Quadra 950. Many thanks to @Trash80toHP_Mini for taking a large detour on the way home to North Carolina through the countryside of Northern Virginia to hand it off to me. The Quadra fired right up without a single issue after just a little bit of light cleaning. Specifications: 16mb RAM, with all SIMM slots filled 500mb HDD No Nubus cards at the moment My plan for this machine is simple. Stuff it full of Nubus cards and RAM. This Q950 will be the successor to my Q800, which cur
  2. Hi... I installed a LC 575 logic board in my Color Classic. I pulled the stock CPU and installed a full 68040 processor. It is running at 33Mhz. I have bought a new crystal and socket and plan to overclock it to 40Mhz. I bought a heat sync and fan. It has 4 black tabs that correctly grab the 68040 processor and it holds itself to the CPU. That and some thermal grease should be all I need. The bottom of the heat sync has two small lips that I need to grind off, but after that, it seems to be a perfect fit. Here is my problem. I am not sure where to grab power for the fan. I have a

  7. Hi all, Do ye have any recommendations for fans/active heatsinks for 68040 processors? Both are possibilities for my Performa 475. There are two processors that I'm thinking about. The first is for a 40MHz 68040 overclocked to 50MHz. It is a part of the NewerTech Quadra Overdrive. It comes with its own active heatsink but it just out so much that it blocks the PDS network card. Alternatively, if anyone knows of a PDS network that is thinner than usual, that would also do the trick. They all seem to be a standard shape. The second is for a full 25MHz 68040 to replace the 68LC04
