Sunoo Report post Posted January 2 I just got this NIC for an SE/30 that was sold as working, but I can't figure out who made it, so I can't get the right drivers. The seller claims to not know either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
beachycove Report post Posted January 2 Install A/UX and it should work, plus give you the details with a little prodding. It only takes an hour or so, assuming you have the right gear.
Sunoo Report post Posted January 2 Are you saying this won't work in Mac OS? Or just that I need A/UX to identify the card?
Johnnya101 Report post Posted January 2 He’s saying AUX will give you the details. i think I have a card that looks the same. I used regular old Asante drivers and it worked. I’d try using those first, it’s quick and easy to check.
Sunoo Report post Posted January 2 Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
Bolle Report post Posted January 2 Fire up NewerTech SlotInfo and see what it tells you.
Sunoo Report post Posted January 2 Any suggestions where to find that? I'm coming up empty in my searches.
Sunoo Report post Posted January 2 I tried the Asante drivers, no luck. I couldn't find SlotInfo, but I found TattleTech, and it identifies as being made by A-Series?
Sunoo Report post Posted January 2 Okay, I found another thread where it said to use the Farallon drivers. I had that driver disk on hand, so I tried it, and it seems to be detected correctly now. Now I just need to find an ethernet cable and see if I can convince it to connect.
Johnnya101 Report post Posted January 2 Yours is very similar to mine. Same components for the most part, just moved around. And what do you know... Mine also says ASERIES V1.0! And it was Farallon I was thinking of, not Asante (as you found out yourself). Must have been some generic card sold back in the day.
