I checked the state of the collection, but ...

Recommended Posts

My IIfx did not start.

It starts with a jump start.

TOKAMAC IIfx will start for the first time in about 10 years.

IIfx's only PDS 68040 accelerator has worked!

Since the HDD is in a bad condition,

I will exchange it for CF or SD card drive.

Which is CF or SD recommended?

I plan to repair IIfx slowly.

Oh my! Nice IIfx, System 6 just has to FLY!!!!

So, how many IIfx systems do you have? I can't tell from your post if you have 1 or 2.

I like SCSI2SD for Hard Drive replacement.

I can agree with omidimo. I have used Panasonic's industrial SD cards many times, simply amazing! With SD cards there many different grades of flash memory quality. I'm not talking about speed, I'm more talking about program erase cycles. Get a good SD card, do not cheap out.

:O That's the holy grail of 68k Macs in my opinion.  An actual working Tokamac.  Incredible.

If you ever get tired of it, let me know. :)

Thank you all for your various opinions

I will change the drive to SD type.
Card will buy the industry type.

I have not tried system 6x + Tokamac.
According to the manual, it seems that it can operate also on System 6x.
System 7.6.1 + Tokamac, the operation was possible.
OS is not a problem because some have.

for Unknown_K
I can not copy PAL of UK 7 on my own.
There is no choice but to ask a Professional company for this.

Nice pictures.

You UK7 programmable chip is socketed located directly north of the 68030 FPU. The normal IIfx one is surface mounted like the chip next to it.

Can you read the top of the chip to see what brand and model it is?

A dozen years ago I contacted one of the owners of Tokamac who did the reworks and he could not find his programming file for that chip (he did send me the control software). Apparently Apple screwed up their bus mastering on the IIfx and each Tokamac card installed needed that chip reprogrammed.

I am hoping a cheap USB eprom programmer (or something like it) can read that chip so the contents can be saved (and I can rework my machine).

Yes, UK 7 is right.

In the Tokamac IIfx manual,
There is a bug on the Apple side, it is written that it is PAL to fix the bug.

When you built a PAL program yourself,
Please also send me a program file.
I also want to keep a backup of the PAL program file.
Since it is a desperate number of Tokamac IIfx cards,
Please take care of Unknown_K 's own card.

By the way, I am not good at English.
Easy sentences like children are easy to convey to me.

I have to repair IIfx first.

The manual is not original, it is a copy.

Important things about PAL are not written.

Since there is no time,
PDF conversion of all pages is currently impossible.
I shot the page only for PAL.
Extra pictures of the second piece :)

I just noticed you have a Tokamac for the IIci?  Is it similar to the Daystar?  Just plugs into the PDS slot?

Daystar's adapter and PAL,

I do not know how it is involved. I'm sorry.

There are two kinds of Tokamac for IIci.
25 MHz is for photograph.
33 MHz is the same product as Presto 040 manufactured by Sonnet Technologies,
There is no performance difference from Daystar Turbo 040.

PAL is not necessary, both connect to the PDS.

Ahh, very cool! System 7.6.1 is a good choice for a IIfx, but with System 6 that would have been one super powerful mac!

Congratulations on all of the cool stuff you have!

Repair of IIfx is completed and it works perfectly!

I found an IBM DDRS HDD that works without problems.
Therefore, the SD, CF drive has not been created yet.
I will introduce my collection again.

I received a PM from which the photos disappeared.
The place where you uploaded the photos has expired and the photos disappeared.
Instead, I uploaded a picture to this place.
Thank you.
