  1. Question for those of you SE/30 owners who use a PDS video card with an external display. I have a Micron Xceed video card and grayscale setup. Grayscale works great on the internal CRT, but I've never used the DB-15 port also offered by the video card. I have a 15" Color VGA LCD that's about 10 years old. Would this adapter on Amazon be all that I would need? (Not sure how those DIP switches on the adapter are used in case like this though.) Note the horizontal scan rate mentioned in the Xceed manual page below of 31.5kHz, which seems rather odd (maybe common for Apple though?). Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. I have a functional Xceed grayscale adapter that looks exactly like joethezombie's photo. There are 4 electrolytic radial capacitors that are old enough to warrant replacing, especially so since they are only temperature rated up to 85°C: C4: 10uF, 16V C5: 47uF, 10V C8: 100uF, 16V C9: 100uF, 63V There are numerous 10,000-hour 105°C rated replacements available on Mouser. Have any of you grayscale adapter owners performed a recap on your adapter? And more specifically, do any of you understand the function of the adapter well enough to know if replacement caps with significantly lower ESR (than the stock caps) would actually create problems? Thanks.
  3. Hello! Just bought a ”TwinSpark” cache Adapter from Stratos Technology, to my Daystar Universal Powercache 33 MHz (MC68030FE33B), for use in an SE/30 (of course). After installation I’m able to boot up once (with Power Central installed), with system 7.1 running Apple diagnostics and Power Demo (without problem), then after 10 minutes the system freezes. After reboot the sequence freezes again when loading Power Central. I’ve been able to get the same result with two different logic borads! Is this a typical incompatible problem between the TwinSpark adapter and older versions of the Universal Powercache? Or is it a problem solved by moving some of the jumpers on the adapter? Sincerely, KTKM
  4. Has anyone tried to fit a Turbo 601 66 MHz, in a socketed 040 Turbo adapter, in a Mac IIcx? I like to try it, but I don’t know what to expect? Perhaps smoke or explosion? Or is there slim a chance of success? /K
  5. Hello I have a Quadra 950 with no hard drive. I recently purchased an IBM SCSI drive, model DDRS-39130. Unfortunately the drive is 68pin female. I know that there are adapters out there but I am not sure which to get, there are so many for sale here and there that I am left confused. I love in Poland, EU but if needed, I can get this item shipped to the US. If anyone could help I would be grateful. Kind regards —Alex
