To do a nifty paint job on a 68k, then use that as an excuse to bump up the asking price on eBay? Not claim that it was made that way, of course, but to get really cheap ci's or something, do a cheap but nifty case mod, and then sell it for an inflated price?
Somehow, that seems wrong, but it also might be a cool idea.
Or something like that. Or I've been staring at the sun too long.

I've never seen hand-painted macs grab particularly greater prices on eBay. I have seen some really badly-executed, but still useful, hacks grab a little bit more money, though. I say go for it, it's only immoral until somebody actually pays for it.

Well, that's why I would dress up the language a bit... nobody'll buy a 14' x 14' canvas with a big orange square on it, unless you give it a fancy name and have it painted by a famous (or famous-sounding) artist.

Hmm...the next thing he will be doing is prying off the Apple Logos and put little oranges on them...lol! I have seen some fraud on ebay like ppl painting Macs black and calling them the "directors edition". There are some that were black but these were bodge jobs. I say fine if you want to paint your Mac and sell it...but listed under "art" and not under the Macintosh listings.
