So my latest project is "The New MLAgazine" it's going to be a website. More about that later. At the current moment, Fedorenko has suggested a fantastic idea about polling the current lot of Macintosh Quadra users.

So anyway, I'll be heading on over to AppleFritter right away, and MacAddict a bit later to see just about who uses and owns Mac Quadras, and basically which ones they own, and what they use them for. I think that instead of a forum poll, I should just have a thread with a few questions, but what questions are good questions?

Here's a few that i can think of.

"What macintosh Quadras do you own?"
"What do you use it/them for?"
"Is it easier/better/morefun to do it on a quadra, than on a newer computer?"

Stuff like that, I need to think of the questions, and I need to use the same questions on both of the different forums.

Well, I think the answer to the last question is kinda obvious.

Other questions:
Have you acquired specialized or rare hardware for your Quadra?
Are you the original owner of any Quadras?
If so, why did you purchase it?
If so, what were you upgrading from?
If so, how have you upgraded your Quadra since then?
Are you the owner of any second hand Quadras?
If so, are there any interesting stories about how you acquired it?
If so, what sort of condition was it in when you aquired it?
(Looking for rags-to-riches type stories, for Macs!)
Have you hacked the machine?
If so, was it a hardware/electronics hack? Explain.
If so, was it a case hack? Explain.
If so, was it a software hack? Explain.
What is your dream Quadra?
What is your *realistic* maxed out Quadra?
(Ie. what can you afford to buy?)

Decide what is worthy, and what should be scrapped?

Great ideas MacTO. How about this question:

Is the quadra to high to be a comfy footstool

Seriously, a well written article about this would kick ass. As I said before, if you did it at enough boards, you cna get a realitvely accurate snapshot of the community.

Good ideas usually are created by crazy people, go figure...Go to Top of Page
