What is the official 68kmla server on Hotline? I can't find any good ones. The retromac one disconnects me on long downloads...

Also, does anyone know of any other good Mac HL servers??

Thanks.

there's always a few listed when I do a server search on tracker-tracker (http://www.tracker-tracker.com/hotline/index.php).
Do a server search for 68k, or a file search for something more specific.

Yep, 68k.dyndns.org. I am not listed on any trackers either, since they attract too many leeches.

I was the former HL server maintainer/hosting, but had to shut down due to certain restrictions, so that would make Quadra the official one.

However, and quadra I need to talk to you aboot this, I will be opening the server back up, on FTP only access. It will be a completely open ftp server, with a 68kmla folder. I will announce more later.

yeah, 68k.dyndns.org is the one I've always known to be the official.

A few of the others I've used, but none as comprehensive, IMHO, as 'Jets is.

Well, I already got Photoshop 4, now I'm looking for Dreamweaver or PageMill or something.

Stuff keeps on "timing out," though -- what's that all about?

timing out usually occurs from the bandwidth hitting extremes and is unable to continue the dl. To keep that from happening on my server, I have a set amount of slots available and use Netstrangler to keep some bw to myself for surfing, etc. What nails me most times is having too many ul's coming at me at one time on top of what is being dl'd from me. Luckily I haven't had anyone experience the "timed out" problem on my server yet.

Yup, thats it Stryder, usually. On rarer occaisions, it can be caused by the machine not getting data to the network fast enough. slow hard drives with many users *can* do this, although very rarely does nowadays.

I almost have the ftp working correctly BTW. I have speed throttling working right, but I am having problems with permissions and such.

I am having network problems. My crapsys router is randomly resetting when there is a lot of activity; the red diagnostic light comes on and all connections quit, or are very slow.

I guess it's time to get another disposable router...
