(sorry, I hit reload. moderators please delete the one with no replies)I'm new to this foroum, so hi peeps. I want to overclock my quadra 610, does anybody know how? I'm used to amiga accelerator boards that have crystal oscilators on them but I can't see one on this mobo (looking for a 25mhz one). Is the oscilator an smt one or is the clk generated in some other place? smell my cheese Edited by - lorddef on 15 Oct 2003 14:45:52 |

I've never done one myself, but the most comprehensive guide to all mac models is at: http://homepage.mac.com/schrier/mhz.html - especially http://homepage.mac.com/schrier/spec.html which has info on the Q610s oscillator, apparently a 12.5MHz part. dana

Cheers dana, according to that guide I can put the oscilator up to 15MHz (ish) whilst still keeping everything functional on the motherboard. Shouldn't be too hard to swap out either as the oscilator is quite big :)smell my cheese |

Great site isn't it! I even enjoy just reading about projects I will never attempt myself. I did however successfully up my Q605 from 25Mhz to 33Mhz (and it's been a happy little web server ever since ) Be sure to let us know how you go....cheers Flash! - - - - - - - - - - - - - A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it sure beats a blank stare for starting a conversation. 68k ParaMedic |
