it seems as though there've been replies to VERY old topics (at least in our minds)that's what it looks like at least... Official 68k videographer Official MLA TourGuide "I'm just a normal computer geek who somehow landed a social life" I have alot of posts... if you don't like it than I don't know what to say. |

Most seem to be off-limits for the moment.. that's kind of weird. Any particular reason?Seems like they're mostly older threads that were provided with new information that could be useful. Should they have been left to die? I guess so. if you have an update, it'd be more helpful to create a new topic, and link to the old one, or just make the update in a new topic... the old topics are getting in our way of things that are newer and better suited to the 'today' of MLA...I recently found an old topic at MLA, and it helped me with something Ithink, but I didn't reply because it was over a year old. Exactly. There's no point in bringing up really old threads just to boost your postcount."**** em" - Jobs in regards to customers Warrior maclover5 68kMLA Official 68kMLA Detective Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |

if you want to increase your postcount, there's several topics in the lounge that are new enough to need some attention... that will be considered a legitimate way to increase it, and your participation in current discussion will be greatly appreciated I'd think.Official 68k videographer Official MLA TourGuide "I'm just a normal computer geek who somehow landed a social life" I have alot of posts... if you don't like it than I don't know what to say. |

Wow.. increase post count? Not really.. I'm into this board, that's all. Want to help where I can, and will.A thread from a year previous is NOT old, especially considering our main subject here. (6+-year-old machines) But no matter. I will post a new topic for anything older, as per the admin requests. It's all about community, after all. I wondered what one does when one finds an old thread. I guess from now on I'll start a new topic and link to it. Thanks for the suggestion. --------------------------------------------- I want to be unique just like everybody else.

Maybe you could do that, or bring it up, if it is still relevant today, like as in right this very second."**** em" - Jobs in regards to customers Warrior maclover5 68kMLA Official 68kMLA Detective Number of 68ks Liberated: 7 Number of Contraband (PPC) Liberated from the Dumpster: 1 |

hehehe... yeah... I can imagine bringing back some threads, like this one thread in the lounge "you might be a 68k Mac Addict if..."that'd be one that I'd 'bring back' because if I were to add to it, it'd make sense to refresh my mind of the whole topic, or keep all posts like that in the same topic... Also it doesn't show good taste to put the abbreviation for the profanities on this topic's title. It's the same thing as swearing, and that's not acceptable on this board, when members do feel the urge to swear, they try and jumble mumble the words so it's not too apprent, but going right out and doing a known abbreviation, that's like shouting at the admin and saying it to thier face.

Nobody answered my question. Why are those topics locked? Did the board lock them automatically or did a mod lock them?====================== Current Macs: iMac G4/700 (main) iBook G3/700 (portable) PowerMac 7300/180 (server) PowerMac 6100/66 (no monitor!) they were probably locked by an admin or moderator (list on the front page if you'd like to talk to one of them individually)they were probably locked because the replies were "less than whole" or because the topics were simply so old, and hadn't been active in over a month... It was me, I'm the only one who can do stuff like that in this forum. They were locked because they were old topics, and most were no longer relevant. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0
