It's been a few months now since I finished hacking an LC 575 mobo, slot-loading SCSI CD-ROM and 2.5" SCSI hard drive into my Color Classic, but yet I still can't get it to boot. I never got any help from the CC Forum at the 'fritter, so I'm reiterating my problems here. What happens is whether I try booting off the hard drive, which has a good install of OS 8.1 on it, or an OS 8.1 CD (that will boot my Quadra 840av), I get a "bus error" before any of the extentions load. Even if I try booting with extentions off, I still get the bus error. I have already gone over the SCSI termination of the hard drive and CD-ROM, and they appear to be fine.
Anybody have any idea of what might be causing this problem?
