Apple File Sharing access is also up now. Simply use the chooser (or connect to server in X), and use that addy down there, and the same l/p to gain access to the same HL files.

FTP is being strange, so gimme a lil more time.

BTW, all files besides OSs are on there now. Also, upload away!!

AFP connection attempt said Error -36, No Such Connection.

In other news, my Carracho server is up, please let me know if you come from the 68kMLA! I'm Barry on the server.

Quick explanation - my gf calls carracho "crack ho", hence the server and ip name.

address
log
pass

crackho.mine.nu
just
foryou

If you use Carracho, add my Tracker, it's up more than the server. Same IP: crackho.mine.nu

Working on the 68xxx software folder.. see you there!

I'm hoping to pass on the link for my shared folder soon.. have to populate it and set up my custom Apache folder and document icons.

My server is back up, but not on any trackers. It has pretty much the same stuff as penguin's server (hence the name), and is fast.

Address: 68k.dyndns.org

The 6360 server had some issues with its motherboard (corrosion on exposed tracings), but a little wirewrap wire and a lot of time got most of it working

I wish that I had my own server somewhere... I should have one eventually but will likely not run an HL server on it

Sorrie guys, storm this weekend has been playing with the powr, and ruining the server from time to time. IT should be up all this weeke to try out though.

Well, ya have to enter that address into hotline, not a stupid browser. My HTTP server is what's giving you that error, since nothing is in that directory.

OK, so how DOES one access that server?

I know nothing about Hotline. I may be the only one here who doesn't, but teach me.

my dad sayd that maybe the wireless ISP in the "valley" where our property is... would let us run a mail server there (not that I'd let dad set up a server, and that it'd only do mail )

there... so yeah If that EVER happens, I'll have to MAKE SURE that the server does MORE than just eMail... and it might be a mac

Yes Stryder, I'm glad your HL server works, but your forums arent!!!! Can't post anything... Wasn't sure if you were aware, and I haven't seen you on AIM and don't have your email. Had a question for you about some stuff on the HL server that I wanted to PM you about, but I can't post or send PMs.

Hey, I got this 68k.dyndns.org hotline server working and it's really fast!. I'm also the only user. But I don't believe they have BeOS on that server. I was told to look for it in the 68kmla server, but I'm not having much luck connecting. What's the address and do I need a password or anything?

Thanks

Look for OpenStep there, not BeOS.

If you find BeOS elsewhere, PLEASE upload it to one of the 68kMLA Hotline servers.

I can't see OpenStep on 68k.dyndns.org. I found a BeOS x86/PPC image elsewhere and would upload it to the 68kmla hotline server (68khotline.no-ip.org) But I still can't connect to to the official 68kmla hotline server, let alone upload to it. Also I'm only about 165mb into the download.

Problem number 3. I just dowloaded A/UX off 68k.dyndns.org and Toast still does not recognize the file. This is the third location I've downloaded that image from and each time to a mac and I still can get the image to work.

What can I do!?, What am I doing wrong?!

OS42User.tgz in the Uploads directory.

Extract, burn as a raw drive image with Discribe, and enjoy! Boot floppy images are available on Apple's web server - email me if you need help.

I think those A/UX images got corrupted when I switched over to the 6360 server; I'll try to find some backups on my G3.

Yeah, my server is having...issues. If I run classic too long, webserving stops (memory leak i think), and I can't find an HL server for that old of OS X (server 1.1), AND, FTP access gives users access to everything (read only, but still, its a pain).

*sigh*

hopefully things will sort out soon...

if you did FTP, couldn't you do FTP to ALL of just one drive? so partitioning might work?

Or is this just a limitation of OSX server that old?

I finally got that BeOS disk image downloaded but again toast or discribe will not recognize it. I'm thinking that I must be doing something wrong. 7 complete images downloaded from the web and hotlines and different sources and still no luck. Not one working image.

What's going on?!

maybe you could add .iso to the image and see if toast or whatever can't burn it?

or .img and see what discopy does

IIRC, you have to first decompress it and then change the type and creator to that of a Discribe image. Search the forums for "OpenStep Uploaded" for more detailed instructions.

On a side note, the forums are back to their original settings and code and work fine now. I also changed the link in my signature line since the redirect seems to be on the fritz. Anyone and everyone is welcome to there. Just click the link.

BTW, my server should be back up fine and runnign now, atleast with HL. FTP is still being a bizatch. Also, If anyone is interested in donations or webhosting for around $8-10 a month, I can move to a dedicated 384 upstream line. I just need to bring in around $15-20 a month and I can do it. I may already have one customer from my dad's work, so we shall see.
