In the vein of Shak's thread topic names, I present to you the "Imgettinglotsofcoolstuffforfreesoon" thread.

I'm getting all of the following (and maybe more) sometime soon, hopefully this weekend:

Power Mac 7200
Duo 230 with DuoDock
Quadra 610
Quadra 630
Apple 15" color monitor

Like I said above -- all for FREE!!!! Yay! I have always wanted a Duo! It'll go perfect with my soon-to-arrive Newton 2100!

oldmacman, all your evangelising of unix on macs is about to pay off, I keep reading your posts about aux this and openstep that and it's slowly interesting me more and more.

I've got a spare 7100 (my dad reaquired the pc i was planning on using, i was broken up about it, trust me), will that run a unix variant of some kind?

Sorry if this is slightly off topic.

congrats on the soon to be find. That duo will be nice to have.

The only UNIX variant officially supported on the 7100 is MkLinux, which is ancient and really slow. See http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/support/solutions/ydl_general/nubus.shtml for info about running Yellow Dog Linux on the 6100. You'll need lots of RAM in the 7100 if you want to use X Windows or anything on it.

Despite what y'all think...netiehr shaktiman his idea of putting everything in one word, or his broken english are the least bit entertaining.

I know that havingyourtitlesasallonewordlikethis can get annoying, but still, why are you repetitively trying to diss shakti? He really hasn't done much wrong.

1) you're obviously presenting a minority opinion,
2) your harping on the matter isn't helping your case,
3) getting nasty in describing a Brit's online dialect is ironic to start, but inappropriate in any case,
4) it's the job of the mods to enforce the rules about the appropriateness of title formatting and make judgements as to what is acceptable on these boards,
5) two of the mods here have already lined up to support shakti,
. . . take the hint!

Congratulations! The 630 won't run A/UX, but it makes a nice MP3 server.
