hehehehe, marathon what is the gameplay like for marathon, I have the macworld that lists the top games of 1995 (?) and marathon is one of them Macworld says that the network config is almost flawless, and not plagued with problems like other network games. anyway, I would like to try marathon as soon as I get a 68k arena set up. BTW, has anyonw checked out c-trl's 68k mobile gaming station? he uses toastermacs to play games on, he also made a videowall out of toastermacs, he plugged a bunch into a powerstrip, and made a movie in segments that play at bootup, so he boots them all at once, and there is your video :) anyway.... ya, bolo and marathon CCCLieutennant Commander (Pronounced Leftennant) Guardian of Obsolete Equipment 68k Macs Rescued: 2 Pluses, a 512KE, a Classic II, and a Quadra 650 Contraband rescued: Power Computing PowerBase 200, and a PM 8600/300 Apple // series rescued: Apple //e |

Marathon is one incredible game! Netplay is a bit slow over LocalTalk, even on PPC Macs, but it runs great on Ethernet. The game itself is, IMHO, the best first person shooter ever. There are literally hundreds of maps, scenarios, and total conversions for all three of the Marathons.BTW, Shaktiman, if you're reading this, follow the link and DOWNLOAD MARATHON IMMEDIATELY!!! There were three games in the series (1, 2 and Infinity). Although Marathon is a 1P Shooter there is a pretty cool plotline. The second and third games continued the plotline while increasing the quality of the graphics and the world maps. I am pleased as punch that I can run Marathon just fine on my Duo 280c, albeit at the low res setting. What a rush of Nostalgia I had playing M2. The Bungie Store seems to be perpetually out of stock with the Action Sack (which had all three) so these downloads made me very happy. Here's something to make everyone happy. there is a project called Marathon-Ressurection which is the Marathon games, using the Unreal Tournament engine. Only for G4s but still, that's pretty cool. --- The problem with computers is they do exactly what you tell them to. Now where's that fuggin 'any' key? Macs liberated thus far: SE-30, Performa 6320CD and Duo 280c. |

The site is for full versions of games. I guess Bolo is a free game and you could get it anywhere. The same about Maelstrom and EV but I'm going to put Serial Reader 2001 + serials for shareware games and apps I'm also looking for Marathon 2 and a no-CD crack for 68k version of Duke Nukem 3D. If you have other full games that run at 68k please mail me: macgames@hot.ee

I have updated my site. You could also download MacOS 8, StuffIt Deluxe, Serial Reader 2001 + Serials, Basilisk II and SoftWindows.Sorry about Abuse and Marathon. Both of those games have been fixed - now they should run fine. Settlers II is running fine with basilisk II on MacOs 8.1 Specter, Lode Runner, Nettrek and many other games are in http://mac.the-underdogs.org/ I'm going to put Prince of Persia 2 and Wolfpack: Wolfenstien 1 , 2 Encounter, wolfedit and some extra levels also there. http://www.hot.ee/macgames/

erm ...... nahhhhh well I'm already bored of wolfstien. I played BOP II. I am the complete master, well I did good. Blew the world up twice(this is good relatiley speaking in gaming terms not real life terms!) But then ended with russia having 70 points. I never play as America. I affected coups in Pakistan & South Africa. With Pakistan "on side"(though still more loyal to USA) Afghanistan behaves itself a bit more. I enjoyed bop on the st better. I have just tried Pirates & Pirates Gold. I am very dissapointed. The mac is so fantastic, & yet the st still has better games? Mac is pc is boring. Games for mac & pc are prolonged to the point of death by boredom. Yhatzi on mac is fair, but not a patch on yhatzi on st. Gnu chess is available on st & mac & the mac version, well it lacks options & interactivity. Wolfstien was kitch & fun, but as for me & games I think I'm going to buy mysefl a Commodore 64. Is it just me? am I just old? were games better when we had 8 bit machines? Wolfstien is this "wandering around, aimlessly shooting & banging one's head against brick walls". I have not found a mac game that inspires me. shaktiman Quadra 840av, prettymuchmaxedout8xcd drive,3 monitors 15" & 14" & 14" os 8.1 Powerbook Duo 280c, 12 meg ram, 500 meg hard drive Performa400(asleepintheattick) |

I have to agree. I've never found a mac game that's given me as much pleasure as Dung Beetles, Crossfire or Aztec did on my apple 2 when I was 15. Cheers! Those games look cool, however I'm having trouble getting the multiple part archives to decompress. I can't get the second or later part to be found by the self-extracting archive! The second and latter parts always download as a text file! Marathon Infinity is still giving me crap, could you make a single file available for download? God, I love the Marathon series! I never played it before now, and it's awesome. I DL all three games for my PB1400c, although I'm playing on my QS/867 right now. How do ya'll think it will play on my PB165, and how in the heck would I even get it there?I think I'll just put it on the 1400 though, on second thought. What with the color screen and all.
