The 9600 doesn't have the A/V ports but it has 6 PCI connectors and with a card like a Pinnacle DC30, you could make your Mac a great machine for digitizing old VCR or analog camcorder tapes. I use my 9500 with such a card for that purpose and it works pretty well.
Upgrading it with a G3 or G4 CPU can make it even more powerful. Those Pre-G3 Macs are the most powerful machines to run System 7 apps (even in 68k mode) and they are great machines for drawing or making art in general. System 7.6 will fly on that machine and you can use apps like Flash 5 for animations, Illustrator 8 for vector graphics or Photoshop 5.5 for drawing and image manipulation.
