Anyone with a TashTalk USB want to test this one for me? https://classicstack.app/ - it's a port of my ClassicStack AFP server and client to typescript. You'll need a browser with Web Serial support (Chrome or Edge).
Open the webapp, press "Connect TashTalk", and select your TashTalk USB. You should be able to see "ClassicStack" show up in Chooser --> AppleShare. Use the Guest login.
If your Mac has sharing enabled, you should also see it show up in the LocalTalk section and you should be able to connect and mount your Macs volume.
MacBinary, BinHex, SIT and ZIP files are supported for upload and will be decompressed on the way over. Downloading files will come back as .zip files with AppleDouble files.

So I got it to build and run, but I'm getting the same freeze-up. And now file sharing isn't working properly now - it freezes when transferring a file from my IIgs to modern Mac. So I went back to v0.10.1, in which file sharing previously worked for me, and I have the same problem. I just added another node to my LocalTalk network, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the 30+ year old phone cables I'm using. I'll hook the two directly with a serial cable when I get back to my old computers and see what shakes out.
What a fun bit of kit, just worked for me on my LC and Firefox on my Neo (pardon my mess - projects in progress)
Quite the experience being able to send Stuff-It (then unstuffed!) programs directly from my browser.

Either my Amazon Cheapy Special were made to the best quality phone cables had to offer, or I'm doing something different..@superpete Really nice works a treat thanks

Thanks all for testing. There's AFP client support so it can go the other way and access volumes from your Macs with sharing enabled. I've been testing with a Mac Classic which seems to give it's AFP server capabilities a bit of a work out (you wouldn't want to try and use the classic at the same time!).
Roughing out the board layout and thinking of going with something like this. Just a little bit bigger than the TashTalk USB but not dramatically so. I was also thinking that this could probably be used for other devices too like LocalTalk-ifying ImageWriters, early StyleWriters and non-networked LaserWriters - pretty much anything that GreyShare/ColourShare ever supported.
Of course we will see what firmware land will bring, but I'm pretty excited about the possibility
Quick question, I received in the mail the other day an ImageScribbler to allow my ImageWriter II to have AppleTalk. I installed the card and flipped the dip switch. It now shows up under your printer tool in Tailtalk (all status correct and when I change something on the printer, the tool reads correctly). I added the printer through system preferences successfully. However, whenever I go to print to it, the system looks like the job is complete (it says complete and the job leaves the printer spool/queue) but the printer never actually prints. Same thing happens when I use Airprint on my iPhone, it claims the finish the printing job but nothing happens. Any ideas? Maybe something very simply, I'm missing. The printer tool does eventually say "Unavailable: ATP: no response after maximum retransmits" but then reverts back to "ready". The only thing is I'm using a standard apple printer serial cable instead of a localtalk one but as you mentioned before that shouldn't make a difference?

Could you possibly take a pcap on TailTalk whilst you send a print job to it? Should just be the checkbox of the same name and then start the server, and then stop it after. The regular cable should work just fine too, that's what I normally use as well. I assume this is 0.10.2 as well right? Wonder if there's something different about the ImageScribbler
And yes it should do - I plan to have it so you can either use the LocalTalk side or feed it data directly via the USB port so you dont have to have the TashTalk USB as well if all you want is printing support.

The cables I have are all standard phone cables from what I can tell. The finest our local Ace Hardware had in stock, as I unfortunately ditched the cables I had 25 years ago... Also all of the cabling and phone net works just fine between everything else.

I was thinking it might have something todo with the ImageScribbler though it is supposed to be a 1 to 1 replica of Apple's localtalk card but still
No problem! I attempted to print twice this time just to make sure it would capture it, hopefully it did.

I think the key part is probably:
I'm not sure if that means there is a problem with the version of Ghostscript I have installed. I will try re-downloading it to see if it makes a difference. Unless you think there might be some other issue?
