ROM hacking in the 68040 Macs

The other annoying thing is I can't recall anything else about how that netboot floppy worked.
@adespoton it would be really cool to find a working netboot floppy to dissect!

So just to nail down this conversation with NETBOOT. I did some more testing, and can confirm no issues using this resource for a ROM/RAM disk driver.... as long as I change the resource & driver name to something else (ie, ROMDISK). Although I did not look at all the System Enablers and every version of the System file, it might be safe to assume that at least a few of them are patching NETBOOT during boot.

There are sellers that could sell you the ROM socket, such as JCM or CayMac. But how are your soldering skills? Admittedly for me I wouldn't trust myself to solder on a ROM socket. I would prefer to pay some money and send my board to a professional like CayMac to do the work :)
