Hello everyone,
I have a Newton MP2000 with the MP2100 upgrade and it does not power on - looking at the logic board, I noticed that the fuse at F1 was blown (with one side shorted to ground) and capacitors C153 and C147 appear internally shorted when checking with a multimeter. I fear that this Newton could have had a reverse polarity charger plugged into it, causing these issues. I have a working 9W original Newton AC adapter to test after I try to repair it by replacing these components. However, I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with such repairs or knowledge if other components are likely to fail when a reverse polarity event happens, in case I need to order additional parts before I start the repair.
