JoeCard Manual & Software?

I hope nobody minds me dragging up this old thread. I recently bought a LittleJOE on Ebay and hunted down the drivers to this thread. The only problem is, from my understanding (I'm new Macs), the file type info has been stripped from the installer executable. I've tried using a utility to give the installer the APPL type so it will install. But now when I run the executable it just gives me an error -39. If anybody can help point out the solution I'd be really grateful. I've been using Powerlogix cache profiler but it would be nice to use the official software if it works.
