Interesting information... perhaps the difference lies in where they were manufactured, rather than the era. There are definitely a couple of distinct plastic compounds that ive come across, and at least in Australia, the crumbly Spindleresque stuff has always been in the 500 and 600mhz machines.
Welp. A recap to the PAV board and Video_B/D board did the trick! It turned onto the flashing folder and mac. So !!!!!!! YAYYAY. It still has a crinkling noise so not sure there. But YAYAYAYAY! I am really glad that did the trick. FYI I didn't do a full recap to the PAV board... Why? I didn't buy enough 1000uf Caps! But at least it works! I did hear the electrolytic sizzle. So I caught it in time. Is the crinkling noise bad? Thanks! Hooray!
Me might be dumb. The HD might have been sending me to spend gobs of money. When I plug the HD into my laptop via adaptor it doesn't spin! And when it is plugged into the iMac the iMac stays on white screen! HMMM!
