I recently got an Adaptec AUA-3020A on ebay to add USB to a PowerMac 7500 with Sonnet G3 upgrade running 9.2.2 on SCSI2SD drive
When I seat the card and start up the machine, it chimes and goes to a grey screen with the mouse pointer in the top corner, but just sits forever and won't boot into 9.2.2
It'll boot into 7.6.1 with the card seated if I change the startup disk (obviously the card doesn't show up in 7.6.1) - but there seems to be some conflict with 9.2.2. I tried most of the recommendations here regarding USB extensions etc. but those seem to presume that your system will boot with the card already seated. I also burnt a CD-R of the duoconnect drivers, but it claims "No installation is necessary" on this hardware.
Most people getting this card to run have beige G3 - is the board of the 7500 somehow incompatible?
I passed on buying a different card because it listed compatibility with 7300, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500, 9600 - but NO mention of 7500?!
