I've been trying to organize my Apple documentation/ephemera and have scanned the packing lists I have as part of that. Ideally I'd love to have all the original boxes and their contents that came with the items in my collection so I've picked things up when costs seem reasonable. It seems somewhere around 1990 Apple stopped putting part numbers on the Packing List line items which unfortunately makes it harder to be sure on the specific version of a manual or disk that shipped with an item.
My file name convention has the item name and then the date from the packing list in two digit Month Day Year format, at somepoint (again ~1990) Apple stopped including Day. I think only one of mine so far lacks a date at all, "AppleCD SC Plus", but I added the Year date of the manual that came with it there.
Apropos of nothing the two sided Performa 600CD packing list is my favorite (color!)
