Because the original Wallstreet only has 233mhz without L2 cache, 250mhz and 292mhz. Which PDQ came in as 233mhz with L2 cache, 266 & 300mhz. Also Gestalt ID is another thing.

Thats PowerBook G3 PDQ - not Wallstreet.
Lovely laptop - I do have both Wallstreet and PDQ but my fave is Wallstreet with Sonnet 500mhz upgrade and its my gateway mac.
Hinges - just put couple of drops of good quality oil to lube it up - Ive done a couple of those now. (you'll need to remove...
As for past couple of weeks we have seen people trying out CHRP enablers for Macintosh.
I have experienced with it with my PowerBook G3 Wallstreet running Sonnet G3 500mhz.
What I have found;
System 7.1 - crashes/unstable, could not show monitors etc
System 7.5.3 - unstable.
System 7.5.5 - I...
Originally I had 25gb partition which was pulled from PDQ which it was able to dual or quad boot, it didn't work too well in Wallstreet which got me stumped hence asking that question above.
So what I did - I rebuilt fresh m.2 inside it and went from there.

Something is baffling me – I have a little problem with my PowerBook G3 Wallstreet with Sonnet G3 500mhz, If I pick an OS to startup with ie. I’m in Mac OS 8.1 and I would like to switch it to Mac OS 8.6, then the OS is selected and go to restart, it will restart back to Mac OS 8.1 and even tho...
Hey all - I recently just rebuilt new set of PRAM batteries for my PowerBook 1400/166, It has dual PRAM batteries in it (only 166 models has dual pram batteries), but I've came into a drama with it...
I copied and made new pack with rechargeable VL2330 batteries, from old one using the original...
Yes there are resisters under that sticker - its R33 and R34.
It is showing 350mhz in Guage Pro and Norton's System Info as well - so across 3 programs (incl Apple's System Info) it is showing 350mhz.
Weird!

edit; What I found about this 350mhz - it will not accept more than 256mb RAM as it will throw up memory error at boot up - Those memory cards are good working order as they're working in other CPUs.
Spot the difference!
I recently bought this PowerBook G3 Wallstreet - very specific purchase because I had Sonnet 500mhz G3 card to go for it, it does not work in PowerBook G3 PDQ.
This is PowerBook G3 Wallstreet CPU, one is stock 292mhz and other one is 350mhz appears to be overclocked...
You can replace the CCFL tube - I have done that before - you need specific length and open it up to replace the CCFL tube.
At the end of the day it'll be brighter but if the screen is already yellow tint - its done.
You can still buy new LCD for it today.

I have this PowerBook G3 Wallstreet - what cringes me with it is when I open the lid - its very very stiff compared to my PowerBook G3 PDQ - it feels like I will break it but I have been opening it very slowly....
How stiff is too stiff that could break something?
What was the resolution to...
Just a thought; you could always insert the newer 9.2.2 AppleShare files/keychain etc into 9.1. Ive done that before in the past (I can't remember why/what was the reason) but I always use the last version of AppleShare in earlier Systems as low as 7.6.1 due AFS.
Cheers
