yeah, I find that any early i5/i7 iMacs with 27" display ( which are cheap and plenty) are very useful at home still..a good industrial design, only plug in keyboard/w mouse and off you go, perfect for elderly and kids..even supports Windows in Bootcamp.

yeah those Intel Core 2 Duo Macs are quite common, but I prefer the early i5/i7 , they a bit more useable today. I recently found one of those 2006 black MacBooks but couldnt find a use for it actually, sold it..

I personally never have seen a 1400 ram with vertical chips on it, only horizontal and also the connector on the 1400 is more centered, the one on the photo is more off.. 1400 ram but here a japanese auction photos of a 1400 RAM with vertical chips..ok the same connector also was used...

I installed 10.1 on my G3 Kanga ( with max 128MB RAM) via XPostFacto but it wasnt fun..it basically ran but without Ethernet. there still is a difference between a Wallstreet-to-Pismo and a Kanga architecturally
