Looking for: Lapis ColorServer PDS/30-14 Drivers Updated 32bit-clean Firmware?

Probably best to try the color card while the Mac is in 24 bit addressing mode first. I recall that mine simply would not boot in 32bit mode. If it works for you then try switching to 32bit mode.

Hi there Caymac! I've been talking to ZigZagJoe about his SE/30 Booster CPU accelerator PDS card. He mentioned that you are working on a replacement SE/30 32-bit clean ROM that would likely work well with the ROM boost feature on his accelerator. Do you have any 32-bit clean SE/30 ROMs that...

Trying to identify PDS video card make

@Aeroform do you recall if it was 32-bit mode compatible? I have a BMOW ROM-inator II Atom that I'd like to use with a colour card and to add more RAM from OWC.

Trying to identify PDS video card make

@zigzagjoe @Aeroform thank you both for your comments. That was very helpful. I was wondering about buying the machine myself to preserve the card for posterity, but I need it to work with System 7. I've already got issues with my non-32bit compatible Lapis ColorServer PDS/30-14 and don't have...

Hi All, I'm trying to help an acquaintance identify the manufacturer of a graphics card in an SE/30 she is selling. Her husband was in the publishing industry and this Mac has come from that time. Unfortunately they are not technical and do not have access to someone who might be able to...

Hi @zigzagjoe @cheesestraws @eharmon @Arbee thank you very much for your responses. Sadly, I found tonight that my SE/30 is not working. At first I go no video at all but the HDD activity light flickered with accesses, and it made all the noises of booting up. There was no startup chime...

Looking for: Lapis ColorServer PDS/30-14 Drivers Updated 32bit-clean Firmware?

Hello, I have a Lapis ColorServer PDS/30-14 in my otherwise stock SE/30 with 8MB of RAM. I've had this Mac and ColorServer since the middle 1990's and they've worked well for me, although they haven't been switched on in decades (the original battery hasn't leaked, and has been replaced...

    Lapis 10006 Rev #2 came with SE/30

I've got a Lapis color card 10009 Rev 2 in my SE/30. When I last used the machine the colour card drove an external VGA monitor at (I think) up to 1024 x 768.  I recall playing Prince of Persia, Lemmings, and Might and Magic III in colour.  Heady days! As Trash80toHP_Mini said earlier, the...
