Expected behavior for Mac Classic when power applied?

I have 2x Macintosh Classic II. Both of these units power on immediately via the rear switch. I flip the switch and hear the fan, HDD spin and chime within a couple of seconds. The power button on the keyboard seemingly has no effect on my machines. From my perspective, the Classic II operates...

    New SE/30 find!

Indeed a surprisingly clean SE/30. I am glad that you were able to save it. I hope that it serves you very well.

    Seeking advice on bombed SE/30

Oof. That's some gore. I once dealt with an SE/30 that was similar. To echo what Durosity said, dealing with the traces beneath the surface would be near impossible. Best of luck with your project!

Another Mac SE Networking Post (Specific Questions)

Hello everyone. I apologize for yet another Mac SE networking post. I did a lot of searching and reading before posting these questions, I promise. Like many others at this time, I've been staying in and working on some projects. I've got an SE FDHD running System 6.0.8 with two floppy...

    Macintosh Plus... or is it?

Thanks for all of the information, everyone. I am pretty happy with it. It's a nice machine. It will get a place of honor in my home. I usually like to keep a compact Mac or two out on my desk. Traditionally, I always have kept one of my Classic II's out. I keep them loaded up with games, but as...

    Macintosh Plus... or is it?

Hey Everyone, I've been an on and off poster and a frequent lurker since 2005. I've got a bit of an odd conquest. I won an eBay auction from the local Goodwill. I am going to use the eBay images for this post. The auction was for a Macintosh Plus, as is clearly visible in this photo:  But...

    God of Keyboards

Congratulations. Loving that price. I am typing this reply on an original 1984 IBM Model M. In fact, we have a number of them still in use here at my school.

Sim City 2000 (floppy) in the original box with everything!

I hardly ever find anything remotely tech related at my local Goodwill. If anything, it's old toasters and a keyboard or two. I have had better luck from locally owned thrift stores in different communities I've traveled to. My best finds come from a little thrift store outside Naval Air Station...

My Classic II Webserver is Now Live

Very neat little project. Something I have considered doing on one of my Classic IIs. Perhaps I will one of these days. Let us know if you ever put it back online. I'd be eager to have a look at it.

Congratulations. That is a great little machine. I too have a Duo 270c. I have a setup with the Duo MiniDock. It looks something like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/53/Duominidock.jpg Occasionally, these floppy drives pop up on eBay...

Yes, the IIsi is also a great machine. I rescued mine from being scrapped at recycling event. It has been a great machine.

Just got a big sentimental score!

Exactly what I have been thinking! I do really like the small size of these machines. Easier to have them out in a small apartment. :p
