Tested all the RAM with the Mac plus. All but one SIM was good.
While using the bench ATX supply under load on the board the voltages are 4.6v on 5V rail and 12.8
no load = 5.1v and 12.5v
12v increases in voltage under load.
I should use only bank A full of SIMMS I suppose
Yeah that is exactly what I did. For now. But the 5v out on the psu says 12A and 1.5A for 12v. 15A on 5v has to be over kill. I bet it’s more like 1.5 to 2a if that.
Yeah. That why im making a molex cable.. i can then jumper pin 10 to pin 9 to manually power it on and selectively supply the 5v and 12v to the board and put an amp meter on it to check the load.
This is odd. With ATX supply connected I have a solid 12v off L10 and pin 12 of the sound chips. And solid 5v on all of the logic. And sad Mac chime.
Stock PSU get starved. Could plow the stock PSU but when I kick it on without the PCB load it powers up, fan spins and I get 12 and 5v. It also...
It's looking like something is starving the PSU. The modern ATX must be able to handle the load but on the stock PSU the voltage to pin 9 (power on) and 5v rail is dropping to 1.9v and the 12v rail is dropping to about 7. I am suspecting it might be something on the 12v rail. Im going to make a...
Ahh ok. Well shoot I built my pack with 5 1000mah Nicds because 10 wouldn’t fit in the 3d printer enclosure I used and I get 45 minutes of runtime 😂 🤦♂️
This is exactly want to do as well. Don’t care about speed. So I should get two then?
What about the DIY and or Kit? I have a picKIT 3 and have build my own boards with PICs on them so I’m capable but not sure if I want to deal with it if it’s a big hassle.
Do you have a kit ? I don’t mind...
Ah cool yeah I need to go to some of these. Like VCF etc also want to check the computer history museum out there. I am in San Diego.
I’m have a feeling the bulk of my content was on a full height 2GB hard drive that’s long gone. The internal drive probably only has the OS and all the apps I’m...
That’s why I’m trying to get frkn’ IICX back! The first one that I started this thread with is my original computer from early 90s it’s loaded with a video capture card, a radius rocket with i think 40 megs of RAM that would have cost thousands back then but I worked for Kingston Memory at the...
