That's more or less the last thing I need to test, Just have to go through my scrap boards and find somewhere I can steal a 26LS30 and 26LS32 from but given the mouse works fine (which requires the SCC to work) I expect they will work just fine :)
Yep, -12V is used for the audio and is...
I have been a little slow updating this thread but testing and tweaking has continued in the background, I'll do a full write up over the weekend but I'll leave this photo here in the meantime;
7.1 Boots from SCSI just fine :)
It's late and I'm not doing a full write-up tonight, but I'll just leave these here (excuse the potato video, it's that or a massive file and I cba with trying to compress it right now)
That'll be tomorrows job :)
All the non programmables (and the ROM) are soldered down, will get all the PAL's programmed and installed tomorrow. Also still waiting for a pico to arrive as my spare one is AWOL
At the moment just 5 to see if they work, I may do a larger run later though (It will also be open source so you will be able to make your own too :) )
It may actually be possible to build one of these with more TH parts, Probably not fully TH but there might just be enough space to squeeze in DIP parts for all the logic and PAL's and maybe the SCSI controller, ROM / VIA / SCC would have to stay as SMT parts though as there just isn't the space...
Thanks :) Though strictly speaking I think DosFox is the first one to do a "no original parts" build - he built a clone board based using my original Plus Reloaded board and most of the other bits mentioned above
I haven't done project thread in a while as writing is not my favourite past time but people seem to enjoy them so here it goes
ITXPlus is a Mini-ITX sized Macintosh Plus logicboard clone that can be be assembled to a working state with no original parts and is intended for new build systems in...
Probably in the next month or two, the SCSI chips are on their way to me right now and the PCB design is done, just need get some PCB's produced and order the rest of the bits :)
The short answer is its possible, but not something I am looking to do currently. I'm focusing on the plus currently as it can be made with no original parts (All PAL's have been reverse engineered, the Sony sound has been reverse engineered and the way of bypassing the requirement for a IWM has...
I won't say much as it's still very much a work in progress but I am working on a ITX sized variation of the plus board that can be made with no original parts. Exactly what will and won't make it on the the board is going to depend largely on how much free board space I end up with after doing...
(The second comment most people made after saying the DB25 was better was "And a internal SCSI connector would be good too" And that was before I had told anyone that was already my plan :) )
I don't know but tbh I expect most people will never use the connector and just connect a BlueSCSI or a fast spinner internally :) I may make a version with the correct 50pin external connector if I decide I can be bothered to make a footprint for it. But either way I am just going to throw the...
