rust converters are decent, but will leave the item blackened i've used Evaporust on battery damaged SE/30 metals. the thing is, it will strip the top layer off the metal. you need to spray it with a clear coat or zinc primer to prevent it from oxidizing.

it's just a keyboard. imo looks wrong with big box mac IIs and looks REALLY wrong with compact macs.

you can solder cr2032 holders to the mainboard. on most of my machines I have desoldered the 1/2 AA holders and replaced them with the buttoncells. now nobody will ever suffer a stupid leak! probably.

there's a microswitch in the headphone jack that mutes the speaker when headphones are connected... sounds like it's screwy. I'd just swap it for a spare.

considering it's booting, it's probably something in the amplifier circuit... all you really need to diagnose that is a multimeter. when you say no sound... do you mean no sound from the speaker? if you plug in headphones, do you hear sound?

@ThisDoesNotCompute has the PenLite/210/230 schematics! As shown off in his video here I hope he does the community a solid and releases these! Just think of all the machines this could help!

beware, some of those will wire the ground pins together. fine for svideo, but on ADB that shorts +5v to data. not good!

for ICs that far gone.. I'd honestly just cut the legs with a nipper, remove the package, and then slide the remaining legs off the board with flux and solder.

pi zero and pico are two different things

from what I understand... there is no place to connect an antenna to the pico. otherwise.. it would be a great idea :) outside the scope of the thread I think ;) you could... but why would you? lots of pain for little gain. just use an SD extender if you need to expose the slot.
