Emulating 840AV (without ROM patches, in the browser)


Extending the scope of my small emulator project. The DSP3210 is just a stub for now (enough to let it boot) and still a work in progress. Let's see how far I can push this.

Nostalgia! It’s probably 25 years since I last played Marathon - now on emulated IIfx with 8•24GC.


The frame rate is better than I expected, especially considering the emulator is running in Chrome on an M1 Mac mini. Mouse movement is choppy, though, and feels overly accelerated.

And I definitely need to improve my gameplay!

There also seems to be a frame-rate cap of around 30 fps in the game, even though the emulator has enough headroom to run faster. Does anyone know whether this can be configured in the game?
